Volunteer Job Descriptions

Office.

Answering phones, receiving donations

 

Daily (M-F) prefer at least a 2.5 hour shift beginning at 10 am – 6 pm; prefer regularly scheduled (weekly).

 

Clothes Sorting.

 

Daily – anytime (once trained); individuals or groups; regularly

 

Food Sorting.

 

Daily – anytime (once trained); individuals or groups; regularly

 

Kitchen Meal Service.

Assist Mission staff  serve the meal to residents and drop-ins and cleaning up kitchen/dining room area.

 

Daily (Monday – Friday) – lunch 1 volunteer 11:00-1:00  regularly

 

Daily (7 days) - dinner minimum of 4 volunteers, maximum of 6 volunteers 3:30-6:00 pm group or individuals; regularly or one-time; special occasion group.

 

Have option of preparing meal for the residents if person/group desires.

 

** We do ask that children be at least 13 years of age to help in the kitchen with the direct supervision of a parent.

Maintenance/Errand Running.

Special maintenance/upkeep projects on an as-needed basis;

examples include: mowing lawn, painting, cleaning, sweeping and mopping walk-in cooler, changing light bulbs, etc.

 

Somewhat of an on-call/as-needed schedule; regularly scheduled for non-emergency situations.
